Evelyn Started Preschool

Evelyn started preschool a few weeks ago which is why I have been so behind on blogging.  I thought I would have more time during the week with her being in school 6 hours a week but actually I am much busier.  It has been hard fingering out stop off and pick up and trying to get Jack to keep his nap schedule.

Hopefully we get into a routine over the next couple of weeks.

Evelyn is loving, loving school.  She is so excited to go and talks about it everyday.  I am just so happy for her and am so happy that we decided to do 3 year old preschool.  When I signed her up 10 months ago I didn't think she would be ready but she has grown so much in the past year.  Her social skills are above average and I just can't believe how smart she is.  She is like a sponge just absorbing everything we talk about.

She is growing up so fast!

Jack is not happy about this :)

Weekend Plans

We have a very fun weekend planned.  Today we have a playdate with our neighbors and I might be just as excited as the kids.  After they play I will get them home and get Jack down for a nap, hopefully.  His sleep schedule has been a mess so everything is up in the air at this point.

This afternoon Mike and I have the honor of being witnesses for our dear friends wedding vows.  Their wedding is planned for next week in Punta Canta and we will be attending that but, today they go to the courthouse to have the legal ceremony performed.

After the ceremony we will be getting drinks and then heading home early so we can do bedtime with the kids.

Tomorrow we have Mike's work annual award winners dinner.  It is a night that we look forward to every year.  It is a special night to celebrate the top performers in Mike's company.

We have the privilege to attend every year because Mike is the Vice President of Sales and is a part of senior staff and he is the host for the event.  It is more than just a dinner out though.  It is a chance to spend some time with Mike's co workers and celebrate the huge accomplishments that they have made over the past year.  I am excited to go and excited to spend time with Mike.

Sunday will be a rest day and I hope to get some grocery shopping done and get to the gym for a long run.

What are you up to this weekend?

Dining room makeover

I finally made some decisions and finished the dinning room.  I went back and forth on paint colors.  I wanted something light but that could easily go with different decorations.

I finally choose Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams.

I decided not to put down a rug and let the wood floors show.  I made the canvases on the wall.  I will do a separate diy post for those later.

I think the whole room came out great.

Here are a few pictures.

We are still enjoying the long weekend and have plans to grill out today.  I am thinking we should do something easy like burgers but we will see what everyone is in the mood for.

On the menu this week:

Stuffed Peppers with Rice
Roasted Vegetable Quesadilla's with a side salad
Bacon, Egg and Avocado Wraps with roasted sweet potato's
Grilled Chicken with parmesan cous cous and peas
