Movin on up

We are moving!  If you follow me on Instagram you saw the news last week but I still wanted to update the blog for those of you don't have Instagram.
It all happened really fast and it has been a whirl wind for the past 3 weeks.
Mike was promoted and I am so happy for him and our family.  He works hard and this is a well deserved promotion.  This new promotion is going to be taking us to Minnesota.  He will now be the President for the Western Minnesota Sysco.  It is a big promotion and this is going to be a good challenge for him.
We always knew that eventually we would have to move with the way things were going with his career but we didn't count on it being so soon.  Either way we are ready as a family and excited to take on the next adventure in our lives.
So Mike accepted the job on a Thursday and the next week we flew there to spend a couple of days to check out the area.  We had no intentions of looking at houses but through all of our research we knew the area we wanted to be in.  We called our realtor and told him we were in town so we met with him late that night and he set up some showings the next morning.
We saw 6 houses in 2 hours, went out to lunch to talk about it and decided to put in an offer on one of them.
It is exactly what I was hoping we would find.  It is a great size for our family.  Lots of space and a great yard.  Most importantly it is in a great neighborhood that is really family friendly and the location to all of the things I need to go to is within just a few miles, Target for example.  Ha.
I am especially excited because Mike suggested we hire an interior designer to help us get everything in order.  I would like to paint most of the interior and also we need to get new furniture for the main living area.  I have never had the opportunity to do something like this so I am looking forward to having some professional help and be able to make the space even a better fit for us.
This week I am working on getting our current house ready to be put on the market.  Hopefully that will be a fast process.
Lots and lots of really exciting things are happening for our family.  I will be sure to keep you all updated on our process.
Get ready for the Pilkington's Minnesota... Here We Come!!!
