DIY homemade Salt Glitter Craft

This past week has been cold.  And when I say cold I don't mean it's a bit chilly, I am talking about -17 degrees.  You can't go outside without being bundled up with hats, gloves and full winter coats.  We are really getting a taste of a typical Minnesota Winter.
So we have had to stay inside for the most part and the kids need lots of activities to keep them entertained.  I came up with this quick solution to glitter when we ran out.

It is really simple to make and the kids both had lots of fun doing art projects with it.

You only need 2 simple ingredients.
-Food coloring
-Koscher salt

I put about a half of cup in each little dish and then added 3 drops of food coloring to each one.

The color turned out great.  Any more food coloring and the salt became clumpy so a little goes a long way.

Then we made pictures with glue and then sprinkled the salt glitter on top.

The kids had a ton of fun and it kept them busy for an hour.
